Children in Need 2008: Dancing DJs on Three Counties Radio
|
´óÏó´«Ã½ Three Counties Radio is to host a version of Strictly Come Dancing to raise money for ´óÏó´«Ã½ Children in Need.
Ìý
Breakfast presenter Stephen Rhodes and colleagues are dusting off their dancing shoes and slapping on the fake tan for this year's Dancers In Need on Three Counties.
Ìý
Contestants, including day time radio presenters, programme team producers and online journalists, are competing to find out who will be this year's king and queen of the dance floor.
Ìý
They have been given just six weeks to learn the cha cha, jive, waltz and quickstep before taking part in the live event at the magnificent Auction Rooms in Luton on Friday (7ÌýNovember).
Ìý
The competition is spread over three rounds with a panel of professional dancers adding their own constructive/scathing criticisms and eventually picking the overall winner.
Ìý
"It will be an evening of glamour and style mixed with fun and nervous energy," said event organiser Gareth Lloyd.
Ìý
"Most of the competitors are complete beginners who have only a matter of weeks to get to performance standard – so who knows what we can expect."
Ìý
With a prize draw, buffet and music courtesy of the Luton Youth Orchestra it promises to be a night to remember.
Ìý
Entry is by ticket only.
Ìý
Tickets are £15 each and are available from ´óÏó´«Ã½ Three Countries Radio reception (during office hours, Monday to Friday only) or by post.
Ìý
Send cheques made payable to "´óÏó´«Ã½ Children in Need Appeal" to Dancers In Need Tickets, ´óÏó´«Ã½ Three Counties Radio, 1ÌýHasting Street, Luton, Beds LU1 5XL.

Notes to Editors
Ìý
´óÏó´«Ã½ Children in Need positively changes the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.
Ìý
This theme of this year's ´óÏó´«Ã½ Children in Need Appeal is "Do Something Different" and the charity is asking people to take up the challenge and help thousands more young people, here in the UK, who need help.
Ìý
Doing Something Different doesn't mean anything difficult, expensive or scary; it just means something outside of your normal routine which will help raise money.
Ìý
There are lots of fun, silly and unusual ideas in the ´óÏó´«Ã½ÌýChildren in Need Fundraising Pack.

Ìý
Remember, for every penny raised, a penny will go towards projects helping those in need. We couldn't do it without you, so a big Pudsey thanks in advance!
