CBeebies' favourite Sarah-Jane Honeywell urges children to get off the sofa and get active this summer in this high-energy new series encouraging youngsters to get out and try something new.
From go-karting to kite-flying and pond-dipping to pottery painting, in each episode Sarah-Jane (Tikkabilla, Higgledy House) and excitable and inquisitive puppet Go-Joe take two children – the Mighty-Mites – on a journey to try an activity for the very first time. Sarah-Jane and Go-Joe share the activity alongside their friends to help empower and encourage them in the new experience. But it's not just the presenters doing the hard work. The series also encourages children watching at home to get involved in the rich range of activities by learning the actions and taking part in interactive quizzes.
The series starts on Monday, when Sarah-Jane and Go-Joe take Karson and Emma-Jane to a gymnastics class and see what it's really like to be a gymnast. Today's Mighty-Mites try out bouncing on the trampoline, jumping off the vault and swinging from the uneven bars. And Sarah-Jane shows off her gymnastic skills ... including some great star jumps.
Tuesday's Mighty-Mites take a trip to the great outdoors and try their hand at tree planting. When Go-Joe first visits his friends, Tyler and Poppy, they are planting tomato seeds. Go-Joe likes the idea of planting things and, when Sarah-Jane arrives, she takes them to plant trees in a woodland reserve. Tyler, Poppy and Go-Joe dig holes, plant the tree saplings and water them before taking part in a nature quiz, Leaf Bingo.
On Thursday, Mighty-Mites Adam and Zoe swap their climbing frame for a much bigger experience when Sarah-Jane and Go-Joe take them to an indoor climbing wall.
On Friday, Sarah-Jane encourages Khadijha and Laurie to become Mighty-Mites by trying out BMX biking, along with her friend, Go-Joe. Together, they learn how to ride the bumps on a BMX track with a special instructor.
