6 Music Festival by Day

6 Music Festival by Day is a free celebration of live music, conversation, comedy and spoken word on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 February 2015.

On Saturday 21 February events will be taking place at the following venues between 11:00- 18:00

  • Featuring live music from Slaves, Joanna Gruesome, The Wytches, Fat White Family, The Pop Group, and more.

  • Interviews and conversation with artists including Royal Blood, Bryan Ferry, Hot Chip, Matt Everitt hosting The First Time with Gang of Four’s Andy Gill, and with Colin Newman of Wire, plus various artists from the North East.

  • plays host to a range of folk performances, including Marika Hackman, Stornoway, and Songhoy Blues, plus Kate Tempest and Eliza Carthy in conversation.

  • With Dr John Cooper Clarke, Ben Watt and Tracey Thorn In Conversation, Sleaford Mods, plus punk poetry, comedy, and Don Letts hosting various film screenings.

On Sunday events will be taking place between 11:00 – 18:00 at

  • The Boiler Shop: Featuring an independent record shop fair, Beardyman making an album in an hour, Guy Garvey and King Creosote in conversation with Tom Robinson about the art of songwriting, and a North East stage with bands including Yellow Creatures plus special guests Woman’s Hour. Plus Cerys Matthews, Tim Burgess, Gaz Coombes, Northern Soul, and more.

Disabled Access

We are committed to doing all we can to ensure everyone can enjoy these unique events and will have a range of facilities in place to assist disabled customers with tickets.

On Saturday 21st February mobility impaired customers will be able to use a free mini bus to travel between venues, subject to availability. Booking in advance is not necessary and details of pick up and drop off points will be available nearer the time. All venues are wheelchair accessible and disabled toilet facilities will be available throughout the Festival. Viewing areas will also be available in all venues subject to capacity.

The Boiler Shop is a wheelchair accessible venue with disabled toilet facilities. There will be a reserved viewing area in the main room only which will be subject to capacity.

We would be grateful if you could let us know of any access requirements you may have via the check box on the registration form. We will then endeavour to make arrangements that will make your visit more enjoyable. We will not use your details unnecessarily and we will not pass them outside the 大象传媒, except where we are required to by law.

Please note that hearing loops are not available at Festival by Day venues.

How can I get tickets to attend?

Tickets for 大象传媒 6 Music Festival by Day are free and will available via a random online ballot.

Registration for the ballot will open at 10am on Tuesday 3 February and close at 8pm on Sunday 8 February.

Only one registration will be accepted per person per event. If successful, applicants will each receive one pair of tickets on Monday 9th February. Multiple registrations will not be eligible for selection.

Applicants must give their main residential address when applying. Please do not apply for tickets if you think you may be unable to use them.

Tickets will be allocated at random, but geographically weighted to ensure a high attendance. 70% of tickets will be allocated to NE, DH, TS and SE postcodes, 30% to the rest of the UK. You may be required to provide proof of address to validate your ticket at the gates.

Which events do tickets give you access to?

Tickets allow access to all 6 Music Festival by Day events on the date shown on the ticket only (subject to venue capacity).

Tickets do not include access to any 6 Music Festival by Night or Late events, nor does it include access to 6 Music Festival by Day events on different days.

Which venues does a Festival By Day, Saturday 21st February ticket give you access to?

Tickets for Festival by Day on the Saturday give you entry to all venues, subject to capacity. You will be required to exchange your ticket for a wristband which will allow you to move between venues throughout the day.

Is there an age restriction to attend?

To attend any of the 6 Music Festival by Day events you will need to be aged 16 or over.

If you are 16 or 17 years old you will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult aged 18 or over. You may be required to provide photographic ID in the form of a passport of driving licence.

What time will the events take place?

Door opening times will vary at each venue, further event information including times and locations will be sent to all ticket holders nearer the time.

When will I get my tickets?

If you are successful you will receive an e-ticket on Monday 9 February to the email address that you registered under.

How many tickets can I get?

You can apply for 1 pair of tickets per day. Multiple registrations will not be eligible for selection.

How secure is the system?

If you are lucky enough to receive a ticket for 大象传媒 6 Music Festival by Day then please be aware that all e-tickets have a unique barcode and a reference number on them that relates to the details of the person who booked the tickets. The barcode is scanned at the entrance to the event and tickets with invalid barcodes will be rejected. E-tickets presented multiple times will also be rejected.

Tickets are fully traceable and can be cancelled at any time by invalidating the barcode.
