The TOP 30 winning couples will join us as part of THE BONHAMS LONDON TO BRIGHTON VETERAN CAR RUN on SUNDAY 5th NOVEMBER 2017 on three vintage buses driven by CHRIS EVANS, ALEX JONES and KAREN & KEVIN CLIFTON
Your weekend will begin with an invite to THE REGENTS STREET MOTOR SHOW on SATURDAY 4th NOVEMBER 2017; showcasing over 125 years of motoring including veteran, vintage, classic and modern-day cars
That evening its glad rags on and over to Pall Mall for a Drinks Reception hosted at THE ROYAL AUTOMOBILE CLUB with the chance to meet some of the organisers and get to know your fellow passengers, collect your special London to Brighton brochure and your all-important passes for the tour itself
On SUNDAY 5th NOVEMBER 2017, it’s an early call time of 6:00am at Hyde Park – with Bacon Butties and Mugs of Coffee on hand for all at the bus starting position in Sector 7. Plus, you will have the chance to meet your drivers; Alex, Chris, Kevin & Karen and our Clippy’s for the day; LOUISE MINCHIN, NATASHA EVANS and in charge of them all will be our very own Head Clippy - CAROL KIRKWOOD
Your vehicles for the day will be a selection of vintage buses; 1949 Bedford Duple OB, 1948 Bedford OB, and a 1950 Bedford OB “Toastrack”, - and of course there will be a backup vehicle in the event it is required; 1956 Bedford Duple SB
Shortly after 7am it will be time to get on board the buses… and then we are off and on rote to Brighton. There will be a refreshment break at THE HARRODS COFFEE STOP IN CRAWLEY. On arrival into Brighton’s Madeira Drive you will be treated to the traditional Mulled Wine & Chilli and more vintage car fun
BUT that’s not all, from there…
You will be transferred to THE MULBERRY INN, for a spectacular four course vintage-themed lunch composed by 2 Michelin Star chef; TOM KERRIDGE, along with accompanying wines courtesy of OLLY SMITH. After lunch get ready to party the night away with the best covers band ever - THE LIONELS
Also in attendance, will be The Brekkie Team who let’s face it will turn up at the opening of a belt buckle if there’s so much as a free sausage roll up for grabs…

1949 Bedford Duple OB with a 28 Horse Power 6-cylinder petrol engine. Chassis built by Bedford in Luton and Bodywork by Duple Coachworks in Hendon. Bought by Lodge Coaches in 2005 and completely stripped and refurbished in their own workshops over a 2-year period – Reg: TMY 700
1948 Bedford OB with a 28 Horse Power 6-cylinder petrol engine. Chassis built by Bedford in Luton and Bodywork by Duple Coachworks in Hendon. Bought by Lodge Coaches in 2016 and completely stripped and refurbished – Regi: CFV 851
1950 Bedford OB ‘Toastrack’ with 28 horse power 6-cylinder petrol engine, same details as Bedford Duple above but along with 3 others was converted by Duple Coachworks for Lincolnshire Road car to provide a service between Butlin’s Camp in Skegness to and from the seafront for holiday makers. This vehicle was the only one to survive of the 4 built. Purchased by Lodge Coaches in 2010 and restored in-house over an intense 12-month period, it has proved to be a very popular vehicle on a sunny day due to its open sides – Reg: LTA 752
Back Up Bus
1956 Bedford Duple SB with 98 horse power 6-cylinder diesel engine. Again, as with the above vehicles the chassis was built by Bedford in Luton and body by Duple Coachworks in Hendon. Bought by Lodge Coaches in 1989 it was the first of our Heritage fleet. Completely stripped back to the chassis and rebuilt over a 10-year period. Up until last weekend its biggest starring role was in an episode of Only Fools and Horses Prequel Rock and Chips where it was used by actor Nicholas Lyndhurst’s character as a getaway vehicle for a jewellery raid, whilst on a day trip to Margate – Registration: MJB 481
