Sound Of 2024: Meet the Introducing artists on the longlist

Radio 1's Sound of 2024 has been announced, and we are pleased to say that six of the ten chosen artists have been supported by 大象传媒 Introducing.

The Sound Of list aims to showcase the most exciting rising stars in music - and it has a proven track record of predicting global superstars, with past winners including Adele, Sam Smith, Ellie Goulding, HAIM, Years & Years, Ray BLK and Sigrid.

Last year's longlist also included seven Introducing-supported artists, including the winner, the rising R&B girl group FLO - you can read more about the Introducing artists on last year's longlist here.

This year’s longlist has been chosen by a panel of 140 industry experts and artists, including Olivia Rodrigo, Declan McKenna, Chase & Status, Mahalia and more. Read on to find out which Introducing artists they're tipping big things for in 2024...

#2 on the shortlist: Olivia Dean

  • Olivia Dean is a singer-songwriter from Walthamstow in North London.

  • Elmiene is a singer-songwriter from Oxford.
  • He was first played on 大象传媒 Introducing in Oxford in January 2022.

Caity Baser

  • Caity Baser is a pop artist from Southampton.
  • She has been supported by Introducing in Solent since she released her first song ‘Average Student’ in February 2021.

CMAT

  • CMAT (Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson) is a country pop artist.
  • She has been supported by Across The Line Introducing since her first play in 2020 with her track ‘I Wanna Be A Cowboy, Baby’.
  • This year she has performed at Glastonbury Festival and released her biggest album to date - CrazyMad, For Me.

Kenya Grace

  • Kenya Grace is a singer-songwriter and producer from Southampton.
  • Now living in North London, she has been supported by Introducing in London since 2022.
  • In October 2023 her self-produced DnB track 'Strangers' hit No.1 on the UK Singles charts, making her the second British female artist to reach No. 1 with a track performed, written and produced entirely solo after Kate Bush's 'Running Up That Hill'.

Sekou

  • Sekou is a young singer-songwriter from Leicestershire.
  • He has been supported by Introducing in the East Midlands since 2021 when he released his first demo track ‘Hurting Without You’.
  • In 2022 he performed on the 大象传媒 Introducing stage at Glastonbury, a set which included the debut performance of his 2023 single ‘Better Man’.
