Gardening magazine. Toby Buckland has top tips on how to get a bumper tomato harvest, whether growing in a greenhouse or outdoors. He has plenty of advice on supporting your crop as well as watering and feeding, and has some helpful pointers on the tastiest varieties to choose for mouth-watering summer salads.

Shrubs need optimum conditions for both good health and good looks and Toby has ideas for where to plant shrubs with purple, gold and silver leaves to ensure that they flourish in your garden.

Carol Klein continues her investigation into plant families as she delves into the fascinating nettle clan. From ornamental nettles and aromatic lavender to culinary stalwarts like mint, she unearths the common traits that run in the family as well as demonstrating some timely propagation tasks.

Alys Fowler uses a Native American Indian technique for growing tender vegetables like sweetcorn, courgettes and beans, and there's a last chance to see the glorious rich colours of the rhododendrons at the historic Leonardslee garden in West Sussex before it finally closes its doors to the public at the end of June.
