Sean Rafferty is at Bantry House in the south west of Ireland to introduce the 2011 West Cork Chamber Music Festival.

Today's concert begins with the Horn Trio in E flat Op. 40 by Brahms. Brahms played the horn and it is believed that the slow movement of this work was a lament on the death of his mother. The Piano Quartet in E flat op. 47 was composed in 1842, the year which has become known as Schumann's Chamber Music Year.
