Gregg Wallace, John Torode and Kirsty Wark talk about MasterChef and Mark Beaumont discusses finding food on long expeditions, plus Fiona Burrell's guide to shortcrust pastry.

With the launch of Masterchef: The Professionals this week, Pennie speaks to Gregg Wallace and John Torode about the Masterchef phenomenon and the impact the programme has on inspiring more people to get cooking.

Recent Masterchef finalist Kirsty Wark talks about her experiences on the programme and her passion for cooking.

As part of 大象传媒 Radio Scotland's Explorer Season, Scottish adventurer Mark Beaumont joins Pennie to talk about the role that food has played in his cycling and rowing expeditions. Constrained by weight and needing a huge daily calorie intake Mark reveals why food becomes one of the most important aspects of his travels. He tells Pennie about the constant hunt for food and some of the more interesting things he's eaten while in the saddle!

Fiona Burrell from The Edinburgh New Town Cookery School gives us the first session in a 3-part pastry masterclass. This week Pennie has a go at shortcrust pastry. The recipe and instructions will be available online to download. The following two masterclasses will be broadcast over the next two weeks.

Takeaway Recipe - Chef Tony Singh makes Scotch Eggs. The podcast is available to download and the recipe available to print-off (both are here on the programme webpage).
