Mark Beaumont talks about explorer food, Fiona Burrell guides us on puff pastry, and Michael Smith makes buttermilk scones, plus sticky fingers as nursery kids do Pudsey baking!
As part of 大象传媒 Scotland's Explorer Season, Scottish adventurer Mark Beaumont joins Pennie Latin to talk about the role that food has played in his cycling and rowing expeditions. Constrained by weight and needing a huge calorie intake, food often becomes one of the most important aspects of his travels. Mark tells Pennie about the constant hunt for food and recalls some of the more interesting things he's eaten while on the move.
In part 2 of her pastry masterclass, Fiona Burrell from the Edinburgh New Town Cookery School teaches us how to make puff pastry.
It's Children In Need week so that means people across the country will be baking cakes, loaves and scones to raise money. Hear how the Kitchen Cafe team got on when they visited a nursery to join in with some Pudsey home baking!
