Penny Gore continues this week's series of Lunchtime Concerts recorded at the Great Music in Irish Houses Festival 2015.

Today we're back at the Royal College of Physicians in Dublin city centre for music by the 19th-century Swedish composer Wilhelm Stenhammar. Sisters Baiba and Lauma Skride perform his Violin Sonata in A minor, Op 19, written for the composer's good friend Tor Aulin, Sweden's leading concert violinist at the time.

We then move to Ireland's National Botanic Gardens for a performance of Beethoven's String Quartet in A Major, Op 18 no.5, performed by former Radio 3 New Generation Artists, the Escher Quartet. By the time this work was composed Beethoven was very much his own master, but ready to acknowledge, in his own voice, his particular debt to Mozart and an honoured past.
