About nine thousand nurses here are staging a 12-hour walk-out as the row over pay and staffing escalates.
Around 9,000 nurses are taking part in strike action across all of Northern Ireland's health trusts today. They're calling for pay parity with nurses in Great Britain - and safer staffing levels. The strike is expected to cause major disruption with almost 600 appointments being postponed by the Western Trust alone.
