How To Age Joyously
Neuroscientist Daniel Levitin joins Rev Kate Bottley and Jason Mohammad to tell them the secrets behind ageing well.
Reverend Kate Bottley and Jason Mohammad present uplifting stories about life, love and modern spirituality, alongside a great soundtrack for your Sunday morning.
This week they meet neuroscientist, musician and bestselling writer Daniel Levitin to talk about his new book 'The Changing Mind: A Neuroscientist's Guide To Aging Well'. Daniel has 'Spiritual Gym' tips for keeping the brain active and in good health, from why not to retire, to why sudoku will not save you. His best-selling books about music, the brain and 'The Organised Mind' brought neuroscience to a wide audience, introducing us to some of the ways this most incredible organ works, plus as a musician, he's worked with Joni Mitchell and Stevie Wonder!
Also the 大象传媒 journalist Raffi Berg tells us the incredible story of the 'Red Sea Spies'; how Mossad agents smuggled out Jewish refugees from Ethiopia to Israel via a fake diving resort in the Red Sea in the early 1980's. As holidaymakers enjoyed the idyllic views, they had little idea that thousands of refugees were escaping by dinghy overnight.
Plus Charity Champion Jenny Pullen, a working Mum of two, tells us why she's running twelve half marathons in twelve months to raise money for the Christian charity Tearfund.
