In the 1970s and 1980s, the number of amateur film-makers rose sharply. Suddenly the motorcycle racing scene in Northern Ireland was awash with fans recording the exploits of their heroes.

As technology became more accessible to the man on the street, the number of amateur film and videographers rose sharply. In the 1970s and 1980s many used their new equipment to record their favourite sporting events. Suddenly the motorcycle racing scene in Northern Ireland was awash with fans pointing cameras to record the exploits of their heroes. A selection of fans’ films has been compiled to pay tribute to the men behind those cameras.
