1980 Ulster Grand Prix
It is the climax of the 1980 World Formula One at Dundrod. Suzuki ask Joey to ride as second to Graham Crosby to stop Honda's Mick Grant from taking the title. Hector Neill recounts the story. Joey took the lead and as each lap passed he increased the distance between him and Graham Crosby. Rex White of Suzuki asked Hector if Joey would stop. At the last lap Joey pulled up and let Graham through to win the championship. Joey had proved he could take team orders and Honda signed him up as a full works rider for 1981.
