Time traveller, Eon Straddler, and his hapless assistant take four short trips through history. Wherever they stop they consider the evolution of the chair, from a carved throne to the changing design of the practical commode; the development of the plastic stacking chair, the space-age ball chair and the high-tech recliner in Eon's own home.

With a light-hearted and humorous approach, we learn about the historical influences on both the look and function of the chair, and how the technology and materials available impacted the final products.
