What is stone used for?
A stonemason explains that stone is used to construct large buildings, including churches and banks. It can also make statues and fountains. Portland limestone is used a lot, as it is inexpensive, hard-wearing, looks good and is easy to shape. The stonemason is shown carving the base for a column.
