Coding and music production
Chloe meets renowned beatboxer and social media phenomenon Beardyman, who has coded a computer system, which enables him to produce live dance music as fast as he can think of it.
The Beardytron is a ground-breaking bespoke system. Beardyman explains that layers and layers of code support the Beardytron 5000 to manipulate his voice; it is the fastest music creation system in existence. The sounds from his voice are captured as audio clips and stored as binary numbers. The samples are processed to create any sound he likes, with as many simultaneous layers as he wishes. The result is live complex dance music all originating from his voice. Chloe demos the Beardytron, creating a track with her own transformed voice. Beardyman explains that this is achievable through code.
Beardyman feels strongly that we can ‘create the world now’ using code. We can all create our own bespoke functions, apps, networks and systems once we’ve learnt how to code.
