Rose Devereux, a social worker in Liverpool, said she has been left with significant damage to her teeth, caused by a dentist she saw for eight years, who has now left the practice.
鈥淥ne tooth fractured in half; I have constant headaches and have done for many years; I have repeated loss of a front tooth and a side tooth; sensitivity; chronic gum disease; 50% bone loss,鈥 said Mrs Devereux.
Mrs Devereux said when complaining about the work to the manager of the practice, he told her that 鈥渋n 22 years of dentistry he wouldn鈥檛 know where to begin to correct my mouth鈥.
Patient complaints against dentists have risen by 100% over the past three years, according to the regulator, the General Dental Council.
