Wikipedia founder: Right to be forgotten 'troubling'
Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales has criticised the EU鈥檚 鈥渞ight to be forgotten鈥 law as 鈥渢roubling鈥 for 鈥渇reedom of expression鈥.
The landmark ruling, passed in May 2014, allowed Europeans to ask for links to "irrelevant" and outdated personal data to be removed from search engines.
"Beginning to regulate what newspapers have said and whether or not we can find history... that's a very difficult and troubling area to start regulating," said Mr Wales.
However, he insisted it was important to be 鈥渃oncerned鈥 about keeping some personal information, such as medical history, private.
