Sarah's story: I was sent back to live with rapist father
Bradford Metropolitan Council have apologised after a girl who was taken into care after being raped by her father, was sent back to live with him.
Sarah*, now 25, gave evidence against her father in court about the rapes, which took place from the age of ten, but he was acquitted.
She was then sent back to live with him, where she was repeatedly raped, fell pregnant and gave birth to his child.
He was eventually imprisoned, but Sarah said her torment would "never end" because her baby was fathered by the man who made her life "miserable".
Bradford Metropolitan Council said they were "deeply sorry for not doing enough" to keep Sarah safe, and agreed a settlement of £160,000 for her "terrible ordeal".
*Sarah is not the woman's real name and her words are spoken by an actress.
