Tuition fees: Father tells Clegg he has 'lost trust' of student vote
Audience member Dominic Ceraldi, who's student daughter previously voted Lib Dem, asked Nick Clegg how he plans to get students back on his side?
The Deputy Prime Minister responded by saying he accepts some people will never 'forgive or forget' his party's broken pledge not to raise the cost of university education.
"There is a profound misunderstanding about the old and the new system".
Referring to Mr Ceraldi's daughter's fees: "Under the old system she would pay every month, the old Labour system, a sort-of flat fee system she would pay 拢66 a month, under the new system she will pay a third of that 拢22 per month. In effect what we've introduced...is a progressive graduate tax".
