Mourinho on Gerrard: We've been like 'brothers in arms'
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has paid tribute to Steven Gerrard before he ends his Liverpool career at the end of the season to join MLS side LA Galaxy.
Mourinho has revealed he tried to sign Gerrard on three occasions, for Chelsea, Inter Milan and Real Madrid, but the former England captain decided to remain at Liverpool.
"I think he's an amazing player with an amazing career," Mourinho said.
"I've lived against him some fantastic moments and some very sad moments. Brothers in arms, enemies in the right sense of the word."
