FIFA crisis: Blatter 'always in the crosshairs'
The outgoing FIFA president, Sepp Blatter, was "always in the crosshairs" of an FBI investigation into corruption in the organisation, according to an investigative journalist. Andrew Jennings spent more than a decade doggedly chasing claims of foul play at world football's governing body, working on two 大象传媒 Panorama investigations on the issue. He told Rhod Sharp on Up All Night on 5 Live, "Blatter was always in the crosshairs. It always came up in the conversation. So did (Jerome) Valke." He was speaking after Blatter announced that he's to resign as FIFA president, saying, "FIFA needs profound restructuring." Reports from the US suggest Mr Blatter is being investigated by officials there in connection with the ongoing corruption investigation.
