Jon Wilkin: Ben Flower will not phase St Helens
On the 14th October 2014, Wigan prop Ben Flower was given a six-month ban - the longest in Super League history - for punching St Helens' Lance Hohaia. The two sides meet each other on Friday 12th June with Ben Flower set to play against St Helens for the first time since the ban.
5 live's George Riley spoke to current St Helens player Jon Wilkin, and former Leeds Rhino player Keith Senior about what it will be like for the St Helens squad to line up against Flower.
鈥淚鈥檝e not heard it discussed in our changing room, we are certainly not going to pay any attention to it鈥 Jon Wilkin said, and when asked by Riley what he made of the standing ovation when Ben Flower鈥檚 returned to the field after six months, Jon replied, 鈥淚 think Ben Flower is a top lad, we make mistakes and move on鈥
鈥淚f you held grudges in Rugby League, you wouldn鈥檛 speak to anybody.鈥
