Golfer Thomas Levet on the effects of suffering with vertigo

Former European Ryder Cup player Thomas Levet says if Jason Day were to win the US Open it would be a bigger achievement than when Tiger Woods won the 2008 tournament with a broken leg.

Day has struggled with the condition throughout the tournament, but was in a share of the lead going into the final round at Chambers Bay.

"You could play golf on one leg but with no balance at all it's a lot harder I think," Levet said.

The Frenchman has also explained what Day has been going through.

"When I went through it, for example I have a corridor in my house and at one stage I could not stop hitting the wall," he said.

"I must have hit that wall 50 times and I could not stop myself.

"When I had it as soon as I could feel it coming I would sit on the ground that was my way of stopping the injuries."
