Former England spinner Graeme Swann has backed Worcestershire's Moeen Ali for the Ashes, over Yorkshire鈥檚 Adil Rashid.

Swann said although Rashid (pictured, right) had 鈥渂owled well鈥� in one-day matches, he was 鈥渘ot 100 percent sure鈥� he could be as successful as Ali (pictured, left) in Test cricket.

Former English first-class cricketer Chris Adams disagreed, claiming Ali was a "wonderful cricketer鈥� but would 鈥渁lways be a number two spinner鈥�.

鈥淚f England are to develop and take their game forward, then it鈥檚 an absolute must to keep Rashid in the side now and give him a go from the very first test,鈥� Adams said.
