Evasive action needed
5 live's Pat Murphy and commentator Adam Collins were forced to take evasive action during Essex's innings against Australia in the Ashes warm-up match at the Essex County Ground, Chelmsford, between 1-4 July.
Australian bowler Nathan Lyon saw his delivery firmly dispatched into the commentary box, prompting Collins to exclaim "the great Pat Murphy has been floored by that ball!
"It's no exaggeration to say that the great Pat Murphy has been floored by that ball!
"We've got an open window broadcast facility, and that ball from the moment it left the bat looked like it was coming straight through the middle here.
"We've got a red mark where the ball's hit, I suspect, and it's missed the panel by no more than six inches and nearly hit Pat as he was diving off his chair!"
Murphy countered: "Saw it all the way! Took evasive action!"
