Froome is a 'fantastic champion' says Sir Dave Brailsford
Chris Froome has been called a 'fantastic champion' by his Team Sky prinicipal Sir Dave Brailsford after effectively sealing a second Tour de France victory in three years.
Froome is set to become the first Briton to win the Tour de France twice after surviving an attack by Nairo Quintana on Alpe d'Huez to retain the leaders yellow jersey.
His 72-second lead will not be challenged during the final stage in Paris.
"He's a fantastic champion," Brailsford said.
"He's a brilliant champion and one of the best athletes we've ever had."
Froome won his first Tour de France in 2013, following Sir Bradley Wiggins' success in 2012.
