James Anderson: I'll referee the football warm ups at Trent Bridge
England bowler James Anderson has said his injury isn't too 'serious' and that he's confident he'll be back for the final Ashes test at The Oval.
Speaking to ´óÏó´«Ã½ cricket correspondent Jonathan Agnew, the 33-year-old said: "It’s not as serious as we thought at first, so I’m going to miss Trent Bridge but I’ll be aiming to get myself ready in three weeks for the Oval."
Asked whether he thought he'd be able to contribute to the 4th test, Anderson said: "I’ll be trying to referee the football warm ups in the morning!
"Definitely. I spoke to Cook earlier and he said he’d like me to stick around.
"I think it’s good to keep the bowling attack together and we do enjoy talking about the game, talking to each other about different plans so I think it might be useful to have me around."
