British Olympic Chief wants ‘clean games and clean athletes’ in Rio

The Chief Executive of the British Olympic Association says he wants to “see clean games and clean athletes” at the Olympic games in Rio De Janeiro.

Bill Sweeney said he didn’t “know” if allegations of widespread doping in athletics were an “unfair attack.”

He added that he was confident that Team GB’s medallists from previous competitions were clean.

“Unless data prove categorically otherwise I would definitely say they were clean,” said Sweeney.

“I haven’t seen any data, we haven’t seen any speculation about previous athletes so it’s not a situation and it’s not a question that’s really come to the fore,” he added.
