Triage, Ricardian and Pass It On Campaign.
Monica Winfield sits in alongside Jim to start your day with the latest news and updates.
The number of mentally ill people being detained in police cells in Leicestershire has dropped significantly- thanks to a ground-breaking scheme.
Three years ago, Leicestershire Police and the local NHS entered into a partnership which saw officers attend calls along with a mental health nurse. And since its introduction in 2012, its led to a 66% drop in the number of mentally ill people being held in police custody. Following the discovery of Richard the Third in a Leicester car park, more people than ever are signing up to be a Ricardian! Before he was found in the city, the Richard the Third Society had around 2500 members. Since then, that amount has doubled! And its not just membership figures that have boosted.... the number of visitors to this weekend's Battle of Bosworth re-enactment were also up considerably. There were more than 4500 visitors this year, and an army of 700 re-enactors too! The phrase '#Pass it On' might be something you have to get used to hearing quite a lot from today! Its because this morning marks the launch of a brand new, month-long campaign to get people across Leicestershire to come forward as bone marrow donors. The Antony Nolan register and Rik Basra Leukemia Campaign will be officially launching 'Pass it On' at Leicester's town hall square.
