Usain Bolt beat Justin Gatlin by one hundredth of a second to retain the 100m title at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing.

Bolt had stumbled out of the blocks in winning his semi-final but found a season's best run of 9.79 seconds to win the title for the third time.

America's Trayvon Bromwell and Canada's Andre De Grasse were both awarded a bronze medal after clocking identical times of 9.911secs.
