Mike Ford: 'wouldn’t walk away from Bath for England’
Bath head coach Mike Ford says he would not accept the England rugby union head coach’s job should it come available, following their early exit from the World Cup.
Stuart Lancaster’s position has come under scrutiny after Saturday’s defeat by Australia.
Speaking on 5 live sport, Ford said: “I can’t walk away from here (Bath) because over the last two years I’ve made commitments to players that will stay with me for four years. This is the best place for me.â€
He also responded to the rumours that Bath and England centre Sam Burgess is set for a rugby league return, saying: “I’m completely surprised by that. Sam wants to go through to the next World Cup and he wants to do it with Bath Rugby.â€
