Street Lights, Jimmy Saville & War Memorials

Start your day with the latest news and updates, with Jim and Jo at breakfast.

People living in one part of Leicestershire have told us they're becoming increasingly worried about the lack of street lighting after a spate of burglaries in their area in the dead of the night. Villagers in Thurcaston say that ever since Leicestershire County Council decided to turn the street lights off in a bid to save money, they've felt increasingly unsafe. And now, after a string of raids on homes in recent weeks, they're demanding that the walkways in their neighbourhood be lit up again.
Also, a leaked draft copy of the report into abuse carried out by Jimmy Savile at the 大象传媒 has found evidence of around sixty sexual assaults - including four rapes, at several 大象传媒 premises. The news website, Exaro, has obtained the draft of Dame Janet Smith's report weeks before its planned publication.
And, he's a Leicestershire born war hero who died during the first World War. But almost one hundred years later a row has broken out between the nephew of Sergeant Stephen Elliott and Countershorpe Parish Council over whether his name should appear on the village war memorial. We've sent our reporter Helen McCarthy to the war memorial where she's been finding out more.
