England captain Wayne Rooney says the Euro 2016 elimination to Iceland was 鈥榚mbarrassing鈥� and has called the resignation of manager Roy Hodgson 鈥榮ad鈥�.

Hodgson quit immediately after the 2-1 defeat in Nice, a result Rooney admits was disappointing.

鈥淲e鈥檙e sad and gutted,鈥� he said.

鈥淚t is embarrassing to go out but that鈥檚 football,鈥� the Manchester United forward added.
