Parking, Organ Donation & Forest Festival

Start your day with the latest news and updates, with Jim and Jo at breakfast.

The man who helped to transform the life of a little boy from Leicestershire says he doesn't quite understand the magnitude of what he's done. Yesterday we brought you the news that after 11 years Matthew Pietrzyk had finally found a kidney donor. He's endured more than a decade of regular dialysis but after years of campaigning all over the country, his parents finally found a donor right on their doorstep. Well we managed to get in touch with the donor Edward Batch, who's written off his life-changing decision to donate a kidney as "an everyday thing".

Also, more than two million pounds could be spent on improving parking around Leicester. Leicester City Council has proposed to invest the cash on a range of schemes to help improve facilities whilst at the same time tackling inconsiderate and dangerous parking. 大象传媒 Radio Leicester's Helen McCarthy is out at one of the proposed sites which could get some of the money. We also hear from RAC about the rise in parking charges at East Midlands Airport.

Also in the show, the latest from Rio, and while our Olympic hopefuls might be going for gold, some world class athletes are here in Leicestershire helping thousands of disadvantaged young people.
