Some dermatologists say popping spots in the 鈥榙anger triangle鈥�, an area that covers part of the eyes, the bridge of your nose, the corners of your mouth and upper lip, could kill you 鈥� though it is very rare.

Squeezing spots carries risk of infection and some dermatologists have pointed out that because blood vessels in the 鈥榙anger triangle鈥� are a direct line to your brain, this means infections that develop in this area could travel there.

If left to develop, this could lead to vision loss, permanent paralysis or even death, they say.

Dr Vishal Madan, a dermatologist in Salford, said there is a 鈥渢heoretical risk鈥� of this happening but it is extremely rare.

He said it is 鈥渉uman nature鈥� to want to pop spots although risk of scarring is the main reason to avoid doing so.
