Brit girl: Calais ‘feels safe – except from police’
Officials now say four thousand people have been moved from the Jungle migrant camp in Calais since evictions started on Monday.
It isn't just aid agencies helping migrants in this time of change – 5 live Breakfast spoke to a British family who travelled to France to lend their support.
Jeronime Palmer and daughters Aquella and Neha made the journey to Calais with friends, she said: “I feel it’s important these people see that children want to support. We are in a situation where they feel like we don’t want them, and it’s important they see that this generation don’t have the same level of animosity.”
Daughter Neha said: “It feels different when you are here to the pictures that you see on the internet. I feel safe – except for all the police that are around.”
