President Trump has signed executive orders which revive plans for the Keystone XL and Dakota Access oil pipelines in the United States. He said he backed the projects on the condition that American steel is used. Campaigners have argued the projects will create fewer jobs than Mr Trump claims and will damage the environment. We hear from environmentalist Bill McKibben, founder of the campaign group 350.org, which has consistently opposed the Keystone pipeline. And the get perspectives from Tim Macmillan, President and CEO of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers and Marg McCuaig-Boyd, Energy Minister for Government of Alberta.
On Monday Mr Trump put a definitive end to US involvement in the Trans-Pacific Partnership. It turns out that other members of the trading bloc think they can carry on making a free-trade agreement without the Americans, as we hear from the 大象传媒鈥檚 Phil Mercer in Australia.
