Former Chelsea midfielder Andy Townsend recalls being asked by his manager to try and 'tap up' then Crystal Palace striker Ian Wright during a match at Selhurst Park.

"Being the type of lad Wrighty was, he said 'yeah, definitely, I'll come to Chelsea!" said Townsend.

A week later Wright signed for Chelsea's London rivals Arsenal for whom he would go on to score 185 goals in all competitions, a mark only bettered by Thierry Henry.
