Townsend: De Boer total contrast to Crystal Palace's DNA

New Crystal Palace manager Frank De Boer's style of football is 'in total contrast to their DNA', says former Republic of Ireland captain Andy Townsend.

The Eagles slumped to a 3-0 home defeat to newly-promoted Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

The 47-year-old Dutchman replaced outgoing boss Sam Allardyce in June.

"They've signed a coach who has a very definite idea of how he wants things done. I really hope he gets it right and the players somehow buy into it."
