Upton Folk Festival takes over Upton-On-Severn, bringing its usual range of great performers with the folk genre.

Expect sessions in many of the pubs across the town and a general feel good weekend to kick off the festival season.

Malvern Winter Gardens

Malvern Winter Gardens
60 thousand pounds has been granted to a team in Malvern to create an exhibition and online archive of the town's rock music history.
Ìý
The Winter Gardens it currently home to the town's theatre, but between the '60s and '90s it played host to some of the biggest names in rock and metal music.
Ìý
The Jam, Joy Division, The Pretenders, Judas Priest and AC/DC are among some of the big names to have appeared over the years.

A Ledbury band are currently on tour in Australia after winning a top award.

The Roving Crows picked up the International Artist of the Year at the Australian Music Awards 12 months ago - and are the festival's guest of honour this year, performing four times this weekend!

The group has been a firm fixture on the local music scene after moving to Colwall from Gloucestershire. But it all began for main songwriter Paul O'Neill in Kildare, Ireland, before attending a performing arts college in New York City.

The band , courtesy of us, and now run their own! They're the people behind Lakefest and, wanting to return the favour, they gave us our very own ´óÏó´«Ã½ Music tent.

Early support from Introducing included playing support to Jamie Cullum at Colston Hall in Bristol and regular features as Track of the Week.

Performing for the Pope

Performing for the Pope
The choir of Hereford Cathedral are to make history - they have been invited to Rome to sing for the Pope and will be the first Anglican Cathedral choir to do so since the Reformation.

The invitation is part of the Pope's programme to encourage diversity and celebrate common ground between different churches.

The choir will sing a Papal Mass in the Sistine Chapel on St Peter's Day in June.

It's a pick 'n' mix shop that straddles the Herefordshire-Wales border and swells the population of Hay-on-Wye early each summer.

We'll be there again, this year, on Sunday, 27 May with some of our favourite handpicked musicians from Herefordshire & Worcestershire, recording four sessions for broadcast across two events.

Then on Tuesday, 29 May, ´óÏó´«Ã½ Music Introducing presenter Andrew Marston quizzes two of Hay's most prolific hit-makers about the science behind a No.1 record.

Alan McGee was the founding father of Creation Records, responsible for signing bands such as Oasis, Primal Scream, My Bloody Valentine and The Libertines. Alan was also behind a club night which saw appearances from The Killers, Kaiser Chiefs, Razorlight, Kasabian and The Darkness.

Jim Eliot has had seven UK top 10 singles – that’s the same number as Adele. But just who is this one-man hit factory? Jim’s written and produced songs for Kylie Minogue, Will Young, Olly Murs, Ellie Goulding, Christina Perri, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Leona Lewis, James Morrison, Rae Morris, Sigma and Foxes – and does all of this tucked away in the shadows of the Black Mountains.
