At least 320,000 people in Britain are now homeless, according to the housing charity Shelter. It鈥檚 a rise of 13,000 on 2017 figures and equivalent to 36 new people becoming homeless every day. Spiralling rents, welfare cuts and a lack of social housing have been cited as contributing factors by the charity.

Daisy-May Hudson and her family lost their home after being unable to afford the rent. She says her mother struggled with 鈥渇eelings of guilt and shame鈥� and the pressure of keeping the family together.

She also says the experience has made her 鈥渋ncredibly passionate about everyone鈥檚 right to a home鈥�.
