‘How cycling gave me wings and saved my life’
Women seeking asylum in the UK can find life here very tough and getting around is expensive. The Bike Project in London supports female asylum seekers and refugees to develop cycling skills to help reduce costs and loneliness. Woman's Hour presenter Jane Garvey met Clarence, not her real name, at a weekly lesson that was funded by Comic Relief and delivered by charities The Bike project and Young Roots.
