Mick burst on to the scene in the summer of 2022 at a food and music festival, masquerading as a dangerously attractive bass guitarist with a well-known band. Joy Horville commented at the time that he was instead Mr Absolutely Ordinary.
However it turned out that Mick was anything but – he won over Joy with his cheeky banter and swapped his chaotic and quirky motorhome life for the previously undiscovered home comforts to be enjoyed at her Beechwood nest.
A rolling stone who’s been accustomed to ploughing his own furrow, Mick has been tamed to the quieter pleasures of Ambridge life – for now. He’s proved an unexpectedly solid support for Joy and an enthusiastic contributor to village affairs.
Who knows whether the attraction of a bucolic lifestyle will endure for a footloose wanderer who’s kept company with the likes of Queen and Rylan Clark?
