Lakshmi Ranjan

Lakshmi was born in London and started learning Bharatanatyam at Sanskriti:UK aged seven, under the tutelage of her Guru Pushkala Gopal.
Since then, she has completed over thirty dance performances including two recitals at Alexandra Palace in the divine presence of Mata Amritanandamayi (‘The Hugging Saint’).
Lakshmi is a winner of the ‘Senior Indian classical dance’ category in both the Croydon Music Festival in 2011 and the KCWA National Dance Competition in 2013.
By the age of 16, Lakshmi had completed her Bharatanatya Arangetram at the Ashcroft Theatre, Fairfield Halls.
Over the years she has taken part in masterclasses with leading international Bharatanatyam dancers such as the Dhananjayans, Mavin Khoo, Alarmel Valli, Mythilli Prakash, Shijith Nambiar and Parvathy Menon.
Aside from dance, Lakshmi is busy with her A Levels. She is also a pianist and a key member of her school’s Gospel choir, which has performed for Archbishop Desmond Tutu and completed a tour of Italy.
