Meet Sam Quek
Sam is going for Strictly gold!
Putting down her hockey stick and picking up her dance shoes, can Sam Quek bring her speed from the pitch onto the dance floor?
Liverpool-born Sam Quek has over 120 international caps for the England and Great Britain women’s hockey team, after winning her first cap at the age of 18. She has an impressive collection of medals including silver from the European and Commonwealth games in 2013 and 2014 and gold from the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics. Sam was also awarded an MBE in the 2017 New Years Honours list for services to hockey.
Upon retiring from hockey, Sam moved into TV by appearing on the 2016 series of ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here. She’s since presented across many sports and entertainment shows, including hosting 大象传媒’s daytime show Morning Live and becoming the first female captain of A Question of Sport in 2021.
Back in 2023 Sam co-hosted the opening ceremony of the Eurovision Song Contest when the contest came to her home city of Liverpool.
With a trophy cupboard full of sporting medals, can Sam bring home the Strictly trophy to add to her collection?
