Julia Griniuk was born in Krivoj Rog in the Ukraine. She studied voice and piano at Nezdanova State Conservatory, Odessa, graduating in 2003, then at the Hochschule f眉r Musik Hanns Eisler, Berlin.

In the opera seasons 2004-05 and 2005-06 she was a member of the Young Ensemble of the D眉sseldorf Opera.

In August 2006 she joined Hanover State Opera where roles include Niklaus The Tales of Hoffmann, H盲nsel H盲nsel und Gretel, the Second Lady Die Zauberfl枚te and the title role in Ravel's L'enfant et les sortil猫ges.

Other roles include Rosina (The Barber of Seville) and Dido (Dido and Aeneas) at the State Theater Frankfurt/Oder; Alisa (Lucia di Lammermoor) at the Braunschweig State Theater and in Schloss Rheinsberg.

Concert performances include an Opera Gala with the Brandenburg State Orchestra under H Beissel; Rossini's Stabat Mater at Berlin Philharmonie; and Beethoven's 9th Symphony in Bonn.

Since 2004 she has been a regular guest soloist with the Klassische Philharmonie, Bonn, touring with them in Spain.

Julia Griniuk has been prizewinner in several international competitions, including the National New Names Competition in Kiev, the International Chamber Opera Competition of Schloss Rheinsberg (bei Berlin) and the Debut International Competition (Bad Mergentheim).

Her main hobby is cooking.
