Robbie had a long professional football career, where he played for Crewe Alexandra, Leicester City, Birmingham City, Blackburn Rovers, Brighton and Hove Albion and Derby County. He won the Football League Cup with Leicester City in 2000 and represented Wales 39 times between 1995 and 2005.
