Seth Tackaberry was born in Manchester, moving to London at the age of ten and picking up bass guitar shortly after discovering The Beatles. He played in rock bands for some years before starting in jazz at the Royal Academy of Music on their Junior Jazz course under Simon Colam and then Gareth Lockrane.

Seth studied there for four years; during this time he also began studying double bass and attended Sixth Form at The Purcell School for young musicians, under Head of Jazz, Simon Allen. Now in his second year studying at the Royal Academy of Music, he performs regularly around London and further afield, in a variety of genres and styles.
